The twenty-minute job that adds years to a water heater

Every gallon of Scottsdale water that enters a heater leaves a little of its mineral load at the bottom of the tank. Over years that becomes a hard crust the burner has to heat through.

Twice yearly if you are on the east edge of the valley where the water is hardest.
